Volgens een bericht van de inspectie SZW steeg het aantal gemelde arbeidsongevallen steeg van 4212 in 2017 tot 4368 in 2018. Het aantal ongevallen met fatale afloop steeg tot 70. Bij deze ongevallen kwamen 71 mensen om. Een stijging van 17 ten opzichte van 2017.<\/p>\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Meest voorkomende ongevallen<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">De meest voorkomende ongevallen zijn:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Vallen van hoogte een hoogte<\/li><li>&#8220;Gegrepen&#8221; worden door bewegende delen van een machine.<\/li><li>Geraakt worden door vallende voorwerpen.<\/li><li>Aanrijdingen<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Jongeren tussen de 15 en 24 jaar hebben de grootste kans om betrokken te raken bij een arbeidsongeval. Verder lopen buitenlandse werknemers en oudere werknemers meer risico. Omdat het aantal ongevallen toeneemt,  lijkt het erop dat de economische voorspoed van de afgelopen jaren met een toenemende druk op effici\u00ebntie en productie ten koste gegaan is van de veiligheid.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Sectoren en bedrijfsgrootte<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Zoals te zien in de tabel komen de meeste fatale ongevallen voor in de bouw. Afgelopen jaar waren dat er 20. Ten opzichte van het aantal werkenden in de bouwnijverheid is het relatieve getal nog ernstiger omdat in de bouw minder mensen werken dan in bijvoorbeeld de industrie. In de tabel zien we dat bij kleine  bedrijven het aantal ongelukken per 100.000 werknemers meer dan 6 keer zo groot is als bij grote bedrijven.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<table class=\"wp-block-table aligncenter\"><tbody><tr><td><strong>Bedrijfsgrootte<\/strong><\/td><td><strong>Ongelukken per <br>100.000 <br>werknemers<\/strong><\/td><\/tr><tr><td>Kleine bedrijven: &lt; 10 werknemers<\/td><td>67<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>Middelgrote bedrijven: &lt; 250\n  werknemers<\/td><td>46<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>Grote bedrijven: 250 werknemers en meer<\/td><td>10<\/td><\/tr><\/tbody><\/table>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Veiligheidscultuur<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Wat zorgt ervoor dat bij vergelijkbare werkzaamheden het aantal ongevallen bij grote bedrijven veel kleiner is dan bij kleinere ondernemingen? Blijkbaar zijn veel ongelukken geen noodlottig toeval maar hebben deze te maken met de manier waarop het werk wordt aangepakt. In het algemeen is er bij grotere bedrijven veel meer aandacht voor veiligheidsaspecten, zoals veilige arbeidsmiddelen en veiligheidsprocedures. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">De inspectie SZW roept bedrijven dan ook op om te investeren in een veiligheidscultuur.
